On one of my visits to the very impoverished village in Oaxaca, Mexico I was invited by one of the families to their home which had no floor, no electricity, no running water, no bathroom; seven children and their parents lived there. They made delicious homemade tortillas and beans. But what impacted me most and what I will never forget was when I was leaving the mother pleaded with me: "Father Adam please pray for all those who don't have much, those who are poor, those who suffer from poverty."
She continued clutching my hands: "thanks be to God we have so much and there are so many others who have so little, please pray for them." The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Father Adam Kotas
