It's better to live in peace than to be right. The Bible says: "Do not let any negative talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may bring grace and benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29. I will never forget one wise old priest who was my seminary professor and he told us: "gentlemen, when you become priests take every chance you get on Sunday to make your people laugh because they have had a hell of a tough week!" People are not your personal projects that you have to make right; they are right already because of who they are and because of who made them and the One who made them fashioned them wonderfully and beautifully and marvelously and rather than wasting your time trying to make them right, LOVE them.
My goal and your goal should be to build people up, to make them feel better because they have had a hell of a tough day, week, month, year, life. For God sakes choose to be kind. Shut up. Pray about it. Instead of giving it to them, give it all to God in prayer as Mary, our model of discipleship did by: "keeping it all in her heart and pondering(praying) about it all often." Luke 2:19.
