Mary is our momma

St. John Paul II's mother Emilia died when he was 8 years old and his father Karol took him to the nearby Shrine in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and pointed there at the image of Mary and said: "from now on she will be your momma." Mary is our queen. She is also the queen of heaven. Jesus is our King and Mary is our queen. Remember that our faith is based on Judaism as Jesus was a Jewish rabbi. The queen mother of Israel interceded on behalf of the people of the kingdom. She was their most powerful advocate. Since the kings of Israel like Solomon had many wives the queen was not their wife but their mother: the queen mother. The people in order to ask of something from the king had to first go and see their queen mother in the palace and she would then take their petitions and bring them to her son, the king. The king, just like our King Jesus Christ, would never refuse his momma! How can you refuse your momma? You just can't...and neither can Jesus and we know this from the first ever miracle Jesus performs in the Bible at the wedding feast of Cana where it was only because His Momma told Him to do it that He does it even though He didn't want to. Mary who sits on a throne in heaven like the queen mother of 1 Kings 2: 13-21 is interceding for us as well when we go to her, our momma, for as the Bible says: "Then he (King Solomon) sat down upon his throne, and a throne was provided for the king's mother, who sat at his right. "There is one small favor l would ask of you," she said. "Do not refuse me." "Ask It, my mother," the king said to her, "for I will not refuse you." So go, run, plead, ask your Momma Mary, for your King will not refuse His Momma. Father Adam Kotas
