St. Julian of Norwich

Updated: Mar 24, 2021

I have been thinking a lot about Julian of Norwich lately—a 14th century woman mystic who lived during times of horrible disease and pandemic when 1/3 of European population died from the

bubonic plaque and other sicknesses. All in all, the pain must have seemed overwhelming:

Suffering was everywhere. Her words echo in my mind over and over again in her prayer saying:, “in the end all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things at the end shall be well for their is a forge of love holding us fast and will never let us go.”

Notice she says: AT THE END not in the middle, we find ourselves in the middle right now as we often do in life but we must remember that at the end all shall we well. You will be ok! We will be just fine. God is with us and God is in charge and if God is with us all will be well - at the end.
