St. Therese of the child Jesus, an uneducated French nun who died in her early 20's, wanted to get to heaven. That is, she wanted to have the reign of God in her. She wanted to be happy. She thought that the way to get to heaven had too many stairs and she would never be able to get there. But this "Little Flower" knew that certain people in French society had elevators, so she wanted to find a way to get to heaven by way of an elevator instead of taking the stairs. So she took the posture of a child who would stand with their arms outstretched in front of her daddy; the daddy would pick their child up and lift them up on their shoulders and carry the child home. That’s what she did. It’s her little way, the way of the child to get to heaven. That’s what Jesus said: “unless you become like a little child you will not have the kingdom of heaven within you.” Take the little way of St. Therese and stretch those arms out to your Daddy in heaven and have Him pick you up on His shoulders and carry you.
