While I lived in Mexico, I helped in an orphanage and one day one of the children had a birthday and I bought him an ice cream. I thought he would enjoy it all by himself as it was his day. He took the ice cream and began to announce aloud with all his strength at the top of his voice and with great enthusiasm shouting for all the children: WE HAVE ICE CREAM !!! I watched as each child came in and had a lick of "their ice cream". I got some too. That boy was so happy not to get the ice cream but to be able to share the ice cream. The Bible says, "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." Proverbs 11:25. The nuns who run the orphanage take a vow of poverty and have everything in common and teach the children the same thing that nothing is theirs, but that everything is theirs to give and share.
